Gandhi

Page history last edited by PBworks 12 years, 8 months ago

During the week of March 7th, we will be watching Richard Attenborough's 1982 film Gandhi. You will be given a "Guide to Gandhi" in class on Monday. This guide will help you before, during, and after our viewings of the film, which will take place during most of our humanities periods this week. You will find links below as well.

Most homework assignments are in your viewing guide! For Tuesday, also read the article about Ben Kingsley that is linked below, and answer the questions in the comment section.

This is a clip from the Freedom Riders website that describes Gandhi's influence on the American Civil Rights Movement.

Watch the full episode. See more American Experience.

Ben Kingsley's Journey from Hamlet to Gandhi

Read the article that is linked above, about the actor who plays Gandhi.

How did Kingsley feel about taking on this role? How did he prepare?

This is an Indian postage stamp. What do you notice?

This statue of Gandhi is in Union Square, which is where we went to see Sukkah City in September.
